A little history

In Saint-Jean-de-Luz, France, at the time of Louis XIV’s wedding in 1660, both his mother and his bride, Maria Theresa, Infanta of Spain, were already crazy about Mr. Adam’s exquisite macarons. The very same Pare Gabea, which means incomparable in Basque, were also enjoyed with a glass of white wine by Russian refugees, artists, fishermen from Brittany and many others who flocked to the Adam family’s pastry shop-cabaret at the beginning of the century. Jean-Pierre Telleria-Adam now manages the business passed down by his father Jakes. He watches over the family’s traditions while innovating in the demanding trade of pastry, sweets and chocolate.
